Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are the children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. Psalm 127:3-5

New town police?
The other night James and I went to the town hall to get my renewed FID card. The town police chief gave James some red, battery-operated clip on lights. These are the kind from the McGruff dog to promote safety. As we were walking into the house I told James to turn it on and maybe his brother or sister would think he was the police. Anyways, the kids all went to bed around 7:30. At 9:30 James comes out and asks for some help with his blankets on his bed. As I was fixing his blankets I realized that he didn't look sleepy or like he had just woken up. When I asked him if he had slept at all yet, he said no. I asked what he had been doing. He said he was playing with the light. He went on to say he was standing in front of the window with his new red, flashing light trying to stop trucks going by our house. Needless to say, nothing stopped. He was up until 9:30PM doing this!!! Boys.

Sad Day
Today is a sad day. The backyard rink is done for the year :( . The strong sun high in the sky has been causing trouble for a couple of weeks, but I've been able to nurse it along. The kids skated yesterday, but the ice was pretty soft. The wet snow and rain today was more than it could take though and it's all slush now. It was a lot of work, but it was more fun! We skated from Jan. 18 to March 1, 2007.
Oh well, as Cal just pointed out now it's time to make maple syrup!
