Potsdam Trip Part V

On the way home from our trip to Potsdam, NY we also stopped to spend a good part of the day in Lake Placid. We visited the Olympic Museum and went into the arena where USA won the 1980's Olympic gold medal in hockey. We also skated on the lake while watching people using the large toboggan run and others taking dog-sledding rides. The wind was blowing and the ice was bumpy, but the kids loved skating as always!

Potsdam Trip Part IV

On the way home on Sunday we stopped in Saranac Lake were they were building their ice castle for an upcoming winter festival. We were able to watch them cutting the ice from the lake and using it to build the castle and the "mini" castle.

Potsdam Trip Part III

We also got to see some Clarkson hockey on our trip up north.

The best-looking Clarkson fans at the game!
The Golden Knights
Lily loved shouting "Let's go Tech!" as loud as she could! At one point she told me, "Mommy, he can skate faster than me!"

Potsdam Trip Part II

On another day of our trip we found an outdoor skating rink and spent several hours skating and playing hockey (in 10 degree weather!). We started skating on a thin layer of snow, but after a little bit the zamboni came out to clear it off just for us!

Potsdam Trip Part I

On our trip to Potsdam, NY we got to visit Gramma Betty for a day. We had a great time visiting with her and watching the deer, turkeys, and song birds in her back yard.
